Greek wine and food tasting benefits regional charities in CLEARWATER
A Greek Wine and Food Tasting will be presented by the Orthodox Men’s Club of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 409 Old Coachman Road, Clearwater on Saturday, Oct. 1, 7 to 10 p.m. in the Matheos Hall.
Proceeds will benefit All Children’s Hospital and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Wines from various regions of Greece will be sampled along with food from area restaurants.
Greek wines have been enjoyed for centuries. Only recently, however, have they achieved broad recognition in the United States, most recently in the Annual Restaurant Poll by Wine & Spirits magazine. Three Greek wines made the top 50 in that poll.
A selection of more than a dozen red, white and dessert wines from regions as far apart as Macedonia in the north, to Crete in the south, along with many of the Greek islands will be available for sampling and purchase on Saturday night.
A wide selection of Greek appetizers and finger-size entrees from local restaurants will be available to accompany the wines.
The $25 donation for this event will benefit All Children’s Hospital and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
All Children's Hospital is a leading center for pediatric treatment, education and research, providing specialized care from newborns through teens. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary (nonprofit) health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and providing education and patient services.
