Greek American Author Patty Apostolides Pens New Novel in Washington, D.C.
Greek American author Patty Apostolides proudly announces her recent release of her latest novel THE GREEK MAIDEN AND THE ENGLISH LORD.
While growing up in America, the Mrs. Apostolides celebrated Greek Independence Day every March 25th with the rest of her family, but she did not really know the details of that significant time in Greece's history. Fast forward to the present time. Now married with a son, the author began researching the events of the war and was struck by the question "What happened to the women and children during the war?" Three years later, her novel was the result.
This 236 page historical novel is set during the time of the Greek War of Independence. The story begins with sixteen year old Lily finding out from her gypsy grandmother that she is not a gypsy and that she had been captured by gypsies during the war when she was six years old. Her search for her true parents leads her to England, where she meets with disappointments, struggles, and ultimately love. A surprise ending brings happiness to all.
The book is available online in either hardcover or paperback on Amazon.com and Barnesandnoble.com.
Patty Apostolides is the author of Lipsi's Daughter, The Lion and the Nurse, and Candlelit Journey: Poetry from the Heart. She lives in Maryland with her husband and son.
